On to Monte Verde

After a pleasant sunset and evening, hosted by our gracious amigo Eduardo, we left early this morning for Monte Verde.  The road was bumpy and narrow, but the views were spectacular – too amazing for photographs!

The afternoon was mentally intense. Wei led a tour of the biodigesters at UGACR. Next we discussed his to analyze the life cycle of energy systems, with a focus on carbon, energy, nitrogen, and phosphorus. After a wonderful meal with the BEST hot chocolate in the world, we took a night hike – on which we saw moths, cadids, a viper, …  The students wrapped up the evening by working on their energy analysis (planning ahead to finish the assignment before the football game tomorrow!).

We’ll be at Monte Verde for the next two nights. Keep an eye out for Conner’s updates to his blog page!
