After a pleasant sunset and evening, hosted by our gracious amigo Eduardo, we left early this morning for Monte Verde. The road was bumpy and narrow, but the views were spectacular – too amazing for photographs!
The afternoon was mentally intense. Wei led a tour of the biodigesters at UGACR. Next we discussed his to analyze the life cycle of energy systems, with a focus on carbon, energy, nitrogen, and phosphorus. After a wonderful meal with the BEST hot chocolate in the world, we took a night hike – on which we saw moths, cadids, a viper, … The students wrapped up the evening by working on their energy analysis (planning ahead to finish the assignment before the football game tomorrow!).
